Marvin Foster is Brazilian Nigerian, from Rio de Janeiro, his father from Nigeria (Calabar) and his mother from Cape Verde (Mindelo). He spent his childhood in Amapá, a state bordering French Guiana. His African ancestry flourished in medicine, a craft inherited from his father, and in music, which he has studied since he was a boy. His ability to heal through surgery joins the ability to heal promoted through the emanation of sound frequencies that promote the joy of life. In medicine, he is trained in advanced general surgery, working in public and private hospitals in Rio de Janeiro and doing his masters degree in surgery at UFRJ. He is part of the band Flor de Aruanda, which is a synthesis of Brazilian Popular Music, rock and soul music.
